The Brügger concept goes back to the Swiss neurologist Alois Brügger and deals with the analysis and treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. At its centre is the model of upright posture and the assumption that harmful loading patterns trigger reflex protective tension.
Therapeutically, posture correction, breathing patterns, functional movements with resistance bands and the so-called agistic-eccentric contraction technique (AEK) are used. The concept is complemented by ergonomic guidance for sitting, standing, walking and everyday movements. The goal is harmonious, economical movement and posture.
