The Bobath assessment is a structured examination and observation process within the Bobath concept, which is well established in neurological physiotherapy. It serves to evaluate posture, muscle tone, movement patterns and activities relevant to daily life.

It records, among other things, starting positions, righting and balance reactions, selective movement ability, postural control and transfer situations. The therapist observes how the patient initiates, controls and ends movements. The findings lead to individually formulated treatment goals at the level of activity and participation, often based on the ICF framework.
